Empowering Youth for a Sustainable Energy Future
Erasmus+ Youth Participation Project (KA154-YOU)
We are pleased to announce the approval of the Erasmus+ project “Empowering Youth for a Sustainable Energy Future”, a European youth participation initiative designed to strengthen young people’s awareness, skills, and active involvement in shaping a sustainable and green future.
The project will be implemented through four international youth participation workshops with mobilities, hosted in Türkiye, Malta, Germany, and Hungary, bringing together young people from different cultural and educational backgrounds to explore sustainable energy, climate change, and the green transition.
Project Partnership
The project is implemented by a strong transnational consortium composed of experienced organisations in youth work, education, and sustainability:

Together, the partners combine expertise in youth participation, non-formal education, digital learning, adult education, and environmental awareness, ensuring a high-quality and impactful project implementation.
Project Approach and Preparation Phase
Before the start of the mobilities, participants will take part in a structured preparation phase. Young people will receive clear information about the project objectives, learning outcomes, and workshop themes. They will also be provided with preparatory learning materials and digital content to build a solid foundation in:
- Sustainable energy and renewable resources
- Environmental challenges and climate change
- Energy policies and green transition strategies
- Digital tools and media literacy
These materials will include video lessons, articles, and online resources, encouraging participants to engage with the topic in advance. In addition, each partner organisation will organise local information sessions, where participants will be introduced to the project methodology, expected outcomes, and non-formal learning approaches. This preparation process aims to increase participants’ confidence, motivation, and active engagement throughout the project.
Learning Methodology and Continuous Support
The project places strong emphasis on non-formal education and continuous participant support. Throughout all workshops, a structured mentorship and guidance system will be in place. Each group of participants will be supported by dedicated mentors who will:
- Monitor individual and group learning progress
- Support problem-solving and skill development
- Encourage active participation and teamwork
Workshops will use interactive and learner-centred methods such as role-playing, group work, brainstorming sessions, simulations, and digital projects. These approaches will help participants transform theoretical knowledge into practical skills, strengthen self-confidence, and develop key competencies such as critical thinking, communication, persuasion, and teamwork.
After each workshop, evaluation and reflection sessions will be organised, allowing participants to share experiences, reflect on challenges, and consolidate learning outcomes before moving to the next phase.
Workshops and Youth Participation Events
The project includes four Youth Participation Events with mobilities, each focusing on a key dimension of sustainable energy and youth engagement:
- YPEVM01 – Future Energy, Today’s Youth
- YPEVM02 – From Voice to Action: Make Your Ideas Heard Around the World
- YPEVM03 – Creating Change by Working Together in Europe
- YPEVM04 – Jobs of the Future, Green Skills
These workshops will empower young people to actively contribute ideas, solutions, and policy-oriented recommendations related to sustainable energy and green jobs.
Sustainability and Long-Term Impact
To ensure lasting impact beyond the project duration, a comprehensive post-project support framework will be implemented. Participants will continue to have access to learning materials, online resources, and follow-up activities. They will be encouraged to use their newly acquired digital and communication skills to disseminate knowledge through online platforms and social media, raising awareness in their local communities.
Learning evaluation reports will be prepared at the end of the project, allowing participants to document their progress and use these outcomes for personal and professional development. Furthermore, ideas, recommendations, and content produced by young people will be used in dissemination and advocacy activities at local, national, and international levels, ensuring that youth voices contribute meaningfully to discussions on sustainable energy and climate action.
