Overview of the Workshop
The Digital Transformation and Innovation Workshop held in Budapest, Hungary, from 7 to 15 October 2025, represented the second core activity of the Erasmus+ Youth Participation project Fostering Youth Participation and Social Justice. Organised in close cooperation with Creative Youth Academy Hungary, the workshop was successfully implemented as a 7-day intensive learning programme, combining non-formal education, hands-on practice, teamwork, and mentorship.
The workshop was designed to equip young people with essential digital skills, stimulate innovation, and demonstrate how digital transformation can be used as a powerful tool to address social challenges. All activities were delivered as planned, with high levels of participation, motivation, and engagement throughout the entire programme.
How the Workshop Was Organised
The workshop followed a structured yet flexible learning design, ensuring a gradual progression from foundational knowledge to practical application and reflection. All sessions were based on non-formal and informal learning methods, encouraging active participation, peer learning, and creativity.
Learning Structure
Each day focused on a specific theme related to digital transformation and innovation:
- Day 1 – Introduction to Digital Transformation and Innovation
The workshop opened with a welcome and orientation session, followed by icebreakers and team-building activities that helped participants quickly form strong working groups. Introductory sessions explored the digital landscape, its societal impact, and inspiring examples of digital innovation for social good. - Day 2 – Digital Tools and Platforms for Innovation
Participants were introduced to digital collaboration tools, project management platforms, and cloud-based systems. Through hands-on group work, they practiced using these tools to design community-oriented digital solutions. Training on data analytics and data-driven decision-making helped participants understand how data can support social impact projects. - Day 3 – Coding and Digital Literacy
This day focused on basic coding skills, using beginner-friendly platforms such as Scratch and Python. Participants worked on small coding projects and explored key topics such as cybersecurity, ethical use of digital tools, and critical evaluation of online content. Mentors provided continuous feedback and technical support. - Day 4 – Innovation and Creativity in the Digital Age
Creative thinking and innovation strategies were introduced through interactive workshops. Group brainstorming sessions allowed participants to design digital innovations addressing issues such as social inclusion, education, and environmental sustainability. Teams then began developing prototypes using digital design and mock-up tools. - Day 5 – Digital Entrepreneurship
Participants explored the fundamentals of digital entrepreneurship, business models, and sustainability planning. Through case studies of successful digital start-ups, young people learned how innovation can be transformed into viable and impactful initiatives. Teams developed draft business or sustainability plans for their projects. - Day 6 – Finalising Projects and Pitching
Groups finalised their digital innovation projects, integrating mentor feedback and refining their concepts. Pitch coaching sessions strengthened participants’ presentation and communication skills. Each team presented its project to peers and mentors, receiving constructive feedback. - Day 7 – Reflection, Certification, and Closing
The final day focused on reflection and evaluation. Participants assessed their learning progress, discussed how they would apply their new skills in their communities, and provided feedback on the workshop. The activity concluded with a certification and closing ceremony, celebrating participants’ achievements and commitment.
